Philly Elite is brought back to life
April 09

Philadelphia Elite basketball has been brought back to life after a couple of years on the shelf.  With a history of producing great players and two future professional players, Philly elite it trying to regain its mark on the map as one of the basketball powerhouses in the tri county Philadelphia area.

Some of the alumni have moved on to greater things in the game of basketball.  Hakim Warrick currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA and Matt Walsh has found his niche overseas playing in Europe.  Michael Haddix a former St. John Neuman/St. Augistine standout made his impact in upstate New York becoming one of the key components of the Sienna Saints basketball team.

Our key focus is to development our talent to not only perform on the court but to excel off it as well.  We want to provide the opportunity for the kids to learn, grow, and become succesful young men in the process.

After going 5-0 in two days, Philly Elite was able to keep its undefeated streak in place with a victory over the Virginia Defenders in the finals at the USJN Memorial Day Clash.  The roster may have been only 7 deep but they were able to work together as a unit and complete the task at hand.

Held at the brand new Boo Williams SportsPlex in Hampton, Virginia this tournament seems to grow year after year.  Talent from as south as Jacksonville FL and as north as New York City were on hand to battle it out.

Philly Elite Places Second in Hershey PA

Philly Elite was unable to keep its championship winning streak going as they lost in the finals at the 2nd annual Hershey Showcase in Harrisburg PA.  The event had over 60 team participating in it and the Elite Division (16/17) included some of the strongest teams in the area.  The final in the Elite Divison was a showdown among Philly Elite and the wildcard team JB Hoops Purple (Scranton PA).

JB Hoops and Philly Elite traded baskets all game as it was an offensive showdown, but down the stretch JB Hoops was able to enforce key defensive stops and were able to hit key foul shots to give them the win 76-69.

Congratulations to JB Hoops for their accomplishment and we look forward to seeing them in the future
